Scott Kleinschmidt Wichita Fire Department, Chief

Battalion Chief Scott Kleinschmidt is a 28-year veteran of the Wichita (KS) Fire Department. He currently serves as the C-shift Special Operations Battalion Chief. Prior to his appointment to Battalion Chief, he served as the Captain of Rescue Company 1, Lieutenant on a busy inner city Truck Company, and as a fireman at the Rescue. Scott lectures and provides hands on training at the local, state, and national level in Rescue Company operations, Truck Company operations, and reduced staffed fire ground operations. He is a past FDIC lecturer and Hands on Training instructor.


Cort Smith Oklahoma City Fire Department, Major

Cort Smith is a 16-year veteran with the Oklahoma City Fire Department. He currently serves as a Major with the Training Division. Before the fire service, he spent twelve years in the Air Force as a linguist and analyst. He is certified in rope rescue, confined space, structural collapse, dive, and swift-water rescue; spending seven years at the Rescue Station 8. Cort trained his first recruit academy in 2015 and has since trained 10 classes, amounting to nearly 500 OKC firefighters.


Justin Lorenzen Oklahoma City Fire Department, Lieutenant

Justin started in fire service in 2005 at a rural combination department about 30 miles south of OKC and was there for 3 years before getting hired at OKCFD. He is married to his high school sweetheart, Raquel, going on 19 years this year they and have two sons. Justin is a Lieutenant/Paramedic and currently serves on the south side of the city at station 7/C, “Capitol Hill Creepers”, and drives Battalion 603. He previously served as a training officer and instructed several academies over his 3 years in that division. Justin is the current president of the Mid-America F.O.O.L.S OKC Metro as well as a contributing part of Firefighter Rescue Survey (Internal Survey Implementation), the Valor Fire Training Cadre, and Build Your Culture Cadre. He has instructed at conferences across the country. His passion is Search, all things training, and most importantly leaving the job better than he found it.


Wes Sitton Oklahoma City Fire Department, Lieutenant

Wesley Sitton has been in the fire service since 2009. He currently serves as a Lieutenant on the Oklahoma City Fire Department. He is assigned to Ladder 6 in Bricktown. Wes is a Combat Veteran having served with the 101st Airborne Division for 2 tours in Iraq prior to his entry into the Fire Service. He is a past president of the Mid-America FOOLS OKC Metro Chapter and is an adjunct instructor for Training Solutions. He has over ten years of instructing experience and has developed numerous course curriculum. He is nationally certified as an IFSAC Instructor 2. He has served on the Educational Advisory Board for the Oklahoma State Firefighters Association for 4 years. Wes has taught Truck Operations around the state of Oklahoma, around the nation, and internationally.



Live Fire H.O.T. Classes

Saturday, September 28th from 8am-5pm at the 

Oklahoma City Fire Department Training Center. 

4 hours of hands-on training + 4 hours of LIVE FIRE scenarios.

Lunch is included. SCBA and bunker gear is required for every track.

VES and Search Lead by: Justin Lorenzen of OKCFD

AM - Fundamentals + advanced tactical scenarios of search and victim rescue and removal.

PM - Live fire scenarios with all groups together

*SCBA and bunker gear required.


Forcible Entry Lead by: Ryan Harper of Wichita FD

AM - Fundamentals + Advanced Tactics of forcible entry

PM - Live fire scenarios with all groups together

*SCBA and bunker gear required.


Ventilation and Ladders Lead by: Wes Sitton of OKCFD

AM - Fundamental + advanced tactics of ladders and vertical ventilation. Multiple props and buildings will be used.

PM - Live fire scenarios with all groups together

*SCBA, bunker gear, and eye protection required.


Hose Handling and Fire Attack Tactics Lead by: Chris George of OKCFD

AM - Fundamentals of deploying, handling, and moving hose lines in a structure and on-scene. Coordinating fire attack with search and ventilation.

PM - Live fire scenarios with all groups together

*SCBA and bunker gear required.
